To my homies,
First, I owe y’all an apology.
I know I’ve been laying low and hard to reach, and missing from rooms I normally would’ve been in. It was never because the love changed. I just had to disappear for a minute to find pieces of myself again. My mind needed it, and God needed my attention.
But even from a distance, I’ve been watching y’all win. Watching men I came up with become fathers, converting from hustlers to businessmen, and boys who had every reason to become statistics turn into providers, leaders, and men of God.
That inspires me more than I probably ever say.
Most of us came from places where survival was the first language we learned. Some of us still got one foot too close to the streets. And somehow, God is still covering us.
I thank Him for giving me friends who let me be completely myself. You gave me a shoulder when I needed somewhere to put the weight and led me when I couldn’t see the road clearly. At the same time, you’ve believed in me when I had the vision, followed me when I knew the way, and checked me when I didn’t.
That kind of friendship is rare, dawg.
I pray for you and your children daily. I pray every move you make takes you further away from anything trying to destroy the man you’re becoming. We might not speak every day and might go months without sitting down together. But life got real. We got families, responsibilities, dreams, and demons of our own to fight.
But nothing about us changes.
Some of God’s greatest blessings in my life didn’t come looking like blessings. They came looking like my homies. I love y’all.
Keep getting money. Keep raising those babies. Keep building. Keep surviving. Keep becoming. And more than anything, keep getting closer to God.
